There’s just something about fall in Colby.

The mornings get a little cooler, the evenings start feeling a little cozier, and suddenly our calendars are filling up with volleyball games, rodeo weekends, and plenty of reasons to cheer on the Colby Community College Trojans.

Fall sports season is here — and we’re ready for it!

Volleyball Season is Underway

Trojan Volleyball is already starting the 2026 season strong, and there’s plenty to be excited about. The team entered the season ranked No. 16 nationally in the preseason poll and kicked things off with an impressive 3-1 showing at the Midland Kick-Off Classic in Texas.

As September gets underway, volleyball is one of the first signs that fall sports season has officially arrived. With September competition beginning right away, including action on September 5, it’s time to break out the Trojan gear and get ready to cheer!

Whether you're a parent making the trip to watch your athlete, a former Trojan coming back to town, or simply a fan of college athletics, we hope you'll make Colby part of the experience.

Then Comes Rodeo Weekend!

If there is one September weekend that brings some serious western energy to Colby, it’s Colby Community College Rodeo Weekend!

The annual CCC Rodeo is scheduled for September 11–13, 2026, with more than 500 participants expected to come to Colby for the event.

That means athletes, families, coaches, friends and rodeo fans from across the r

egion will be making their way to the Oasis on the Plains — and we can’t wait to welcome them.

There’s nothing quite like rodeo weekend in western Kansas. The trailers roll into town, boots and hats come out, restaurants get busy, hotels fill up, and you can feel the excitement all around Colby.

Make a Weekend Out of It

Coming to Colby to cheer on your favorite Trojan? Don’t make the game or rodeo your only stop!

Stay the night, grab breakfast at a local restaurant, explore downtown, take a walk through one of our parks, visit the Prairie Museum of Art & History, do a little shopping, or catch one of those beautiful western Kansas sunsets before heading home.

Fall is one of our favorite times to explore Colby. The temperatures start cooling down, sports are back in full swing, and our community is buzzing again with students, families, and visitors.

And if you’re traveling a few hours to watch your athlete compete, why rush home afterward? Book a room, slow down, and enjoy Colby while you’re here.

Welcome Back, Trojan Fans!

One of the best parts of college athletics is seeing how many people it brings together. Every season, we get to welcome parents, grandparents, siblings, alumni, and fans who travel to Colby to support CCC student-athletes.

To everyone making the trip this fall: welcome to Colby!

We hope you cheer loudly, explore a little, eat somewhere local, stay awhile, and enjoy everything our community has to offer.

Here’s to cooler evenings, packed stands, volleyball rallies, rodeo dust, Trojan pride and another great fall in the Oasis on the Plains.

Fall sports are back, Colby — let’s go Trojans!
