More Reasons to Stop: Exciting Growth at the Oasis Travel Center
There are exciting changes happening at the Oasis Travel Center in Colby, and they’re giving travelers even more reasons to make a stop in the Oasis on the Plains!
One of the biggest additions coming to the Travel Center is a new Starbucks drive-thru, along with additional parking to better accommodate visitors. As one of Colby’s busiest and most recognizable stops along I-70, these improvements are another sign of continued growth in our community and our ability to serve travelers passing through Northwest Kansas.

A Convenient New Stop Along I-70
For travelers, convenience matters. Whether you're heading across Kansas on a family road trip, traveling for work, or making the long drive across I-70, sometimes you just need an easy place to pull off, grab a coffee, refuel, and get back on the road.
The addition of a Starbucks drive-thru will make that even easier in Colby.
A nationally recognized coffee option directly off the interstate has the potential to attract even more travelers to Exit 53. And once visitors pull off the highway, they have the opportunity to discover everything else available at the Oasis Travel Center — and throughout Colby.
That quick coffee stop can turn into filling up the gas tank, grabbing a meal, letting the kids play, walking the dog, or deciding to spend a little more time exploring town.
Making Room for Growth
To make room for the new drive-thru and additional parking, the Zoo-asis playground will be relocated from its current spot.
The good news is that Zoo-asis isn't disappearing!

The playground has been a fun feature for families stopping in Colby, giving kids a chance to get out of the vehicle and burn off some energy during a long trip. Relocating it allows the Travel Center to grow while continuing to offer that family-friendly experience.
With more parking, easier access to coffee, food and fuel, and a place for kids to play, the Oasis Travel Center continues to become more than just a quick fuel stop.
Getting Travelers Off the Interstate
From a tourism perspective, every new reason for someone to exit I-70 is an opportunity for Colby.
Thousands of vehicles travel the interstate, and attracting even a portion of those travelers into our community means more people experiencing our restaurants, hotels, shops, attractions, parks and local businesses.

The new Starbucks drive-thru and expanded parking add another recognizable and convenient reason for travelers to choose Colby as their stopping point.
Maybe they're only planning to grab a coffee. But while they're here, they may discover a restaurant for lunch, find a local shop, visit an attraction, or decide Colby is the perfect place to stay for the night.
That's what being the Oasis on the Plains is all about — giving travelers a reason to stop and making sure they're glad they did.
More to Come at the Oasis
We’re excited to watch these improvements take shape at the Oasis Travel Center and to see another investment being made in the experience Colby provides its visitors.
Between the new Starbucks drive-thru, additional parking, the relocated Zoo-asis playground, and everything already available at the Travel Center, one of Colby’s most important gateways is continuing to grow right alongside our community.
Next time you're traveling I-70, take the Colby exit, grab a coffee, stretch your legs, and see what else is waiting for you in the Oasis on the Plains.
